MSI GeForce GTX 980 Ti Gaming 6GB Overclocking Results

Despite the fact MSI already pushed the GTX 980 Ti from 1,000MHz to 1,178MHz out of the factory there's still a little extra room for further overclocking to eke out every last drop of performance. In our testing we found the MSI GTX 980 Ti Gaming 6G was stable up to 1,250MHz on the base clock, 1,338MHz on the boost clock and 1,953MHz on the memory clock (7,812MHz effective).

That overclock translates into an extra 8~9 percent extra performance over the already very fast factory speeds. With overclocking taken into consideration the AMD R9 Fury X is no match for the Nvidia GTX 980 Ti. Stock versus stock, the R9 Fury X barely manages 8 percent while the GTX 980 Ti, on average, manages 25 percent or more depending on the silicon quality.
